UPDATE: Met Éireann issue new wind warning for just one county

Carl Kinsella

On Friday, Met Éireann announced a nationwide weather warning with parts of the country to experience extreme wind and other parts to experience slightly less extreme wind.

The warnings were meant to be in effect as far as midday on Sunday, but that changed this morning when Met Éireann revised their estimates and called off the warnings at 9am.

However, Met Éireann issued a new warning only minutes later — and just one county continues to face Storm Dylan-related danger. Sorry, Donegal!

The warning says Donegal can expect “Some very strong winds with mean speeds between 50 and 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 110 km/h are expected.”

The good news is that the status yellow wind warning for Donegal will only remain in place until 11am this morning, so there isn’t too long to wait for it to pass. Though who’s to say Met Éireann won’t issue another warning? But sure look, if they do we’ll let you know.
