A Covid-19 vaccine could be available in America in “early November”.

A Covid vaccine could be available across the United States by November, according to an update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Health officials across America have reportedly been told that certain groups should expect the vaccine to be available in the next few months, according to documents that were posted by The New York Times and then confirmed by the CDC to CNN.

The groups that are expected to be the first to be offered the vaccine will be health workers, national security employees and high-risk groups, according to reports.

Many believe that US President Donald Trump is heavily pushing for a vaccine to be released before the presidential election, which is due to take place on 3 November.

Recently, during the Republican National Convention, Trump said: “We are delivering lifesaving therapies, and will produce a vaccine before the end of the year, or maybe even sooner.”

The US government’s top infectious disease expert, Anthony Fauci said that he is “cautiously optimistic” about a potential vaccine by the end of this year, but added that he would not happy with the release of a vaccine unless it is clear that it is both safe and effective.
