It follows Trump declaring a national emergency for the wall in order to bypass Congress.
On Friday night it was announced that the US Supreme Court have supported President Donald Trump in using billions of dollars in Pentagon funds, and for that to be used in constructing the wall at the U.S./Mexico border.
When an initial stand-off with Congress resulted in the longest government shut-down in US history, Trump then declared a national emergency in order to bypass them altogether.
Last May, 20 U.S. states came together to declare that Trump’s declaration of a national emergency was a violation of the constitution, and this was supported by Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal, who put in place a temporary injunction which would stop Defence Department funding being used for the wall.
However, on Friday, the US Supreme Court overturned that ruling by a majority of 5-4, stating that the government had “made a sufficient showing at this stage” that those 20 states, as well as all of the environmental and rights groups that supporting them, did not have the standing to challenge the allocation of funds.

This ruling will allow Trump temporary access to $2.5 billion for the project.
Dror Ladin, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union’s national security project, has vowed to immediately seek an expedited decision from the Ninth Circuit “to halt the irreversible and imminent damage from Trump’s border wall.
“Border communities, the environment, and our Constitution’s separation of powers will be permanently harmed should Trump get away with pillaging military funds for a xenophobic border wall Congress denied.”
