“Parents and guardians will be able to register their 12-15-year-olds for a vaccine from Thursday.”

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that the vaccine portal will open for parents to register kids aged between 12 to 15 from Thursday.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Donnelly said that over 6.1 million doses of the Covid-19 have now been administered across the country.

“The start of another big week in our vaccination programme,” he said.

“Parents and guardians will be able to register their 12-15-year-olds for a vaccine from Thursday.

“Over 6.1 million doses administered as of last night. Well done to everyone involved.”

Parental permission will be required before anyone in the age group receives the vaccine.

Registration for the jab opened for all those aged over 16 just two weeks ago, just one week after it opened for everyone aged over 18.

To register online for a vaccine, you will need a mobile phone number, an email address, your PPS number and your Eircode.

If you do not have these things, you are advised to call the Covid-19 helpline to register by phone instead.
