Little man meets very big man.
As we have spoken about before here, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson likes to tweet out cool old photos of himself and overnight he tweeted one of his very best.
First, a bit of history. The Rock comes from a family that is steeped in wrestling. His grandfather Peter Maivia was a pro wrestler from Samoa and his father Rocky Johnson was another pro who wrestled in the then WWF.
So it wasn’t off the grass The Rock licked his talent. Anyway, with his Da being in the WWF, as a kid Dwayne got to meet most of the big stars of the 1970s and 1980s growing up.
And few stars were as big, in every sense of the word, as Andre the Giant. A legend that is still instantly recognisable even 20 years after his death, the 7’4” Frenchman was one of the most famous men in the world during the 1970s and 1980s and every kid in the world would have wanted to meet him.
We’ve seen pictures of the young Johnson with Andre before, but we haven’t seen this image before.
