According to the South African newspaper The Citizen, “Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Dave Miller said four or five men had attempted to hijack a black BMW X5 on the corner of Rubenstein and Helois roads in the Moreleta Park area at about 8am.”

“The abandoned vehicle was recovered shortly afterwards in Tembisa, where police firearms, police clothing and other firearms were found inside.”

Apparently, the hijackers were driving the white car and fired two shots before fleeing the scene. While there were no injuries, paramedics on the scene treated the victims and an eyewitness for shock.
