Disturbing scenes from Gorey in County Wexford.

There were tense scenes in Gorey as a range of community members and activists from Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin took part in a protest against the auction of NAMA properties.

A member of An Garda Siochána is filmed by journalist John Rooney attempting to arrest one of the protesters, who refuses to give his name on the basis that he hasn’t been properly quoted a charge.

Pandemonium breaks loose as the camera pans around to chaotic scenes in the room. The footage moves back to a Garda extending his baton and violently striking an elderly man, whose arms are by his side.
