€8 million.
Local authorities will be given €8 million “to facilitate and support the on-going clean-up works being undertaken at local level in the aftermath of Storm Desmond”, according to a statement made by Alan Kelly, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government today.
The announcement came after a meeting by the National Coordination Group in response to recent flooding – which has seen hundreds of Irish homes and businesses adversely affected.
A further €5 million will be made available to small businesses in order to subsidise the losses suffered and damages endured.
