The minute’s silence was observed at the start of the Christmas lighting ceremony this afternoon.
Organisers had announced earlier today that the annual lighting ceremony, which always attracts a large crowd, would be preceded by a minute’s silence in memory of the 129 people who lost their lives in the attacks on Paris on Friday night.
It was a gesture intended to show Dublin’s solidarity with France and the minute’s silence was impeccably observed.
