Irishmen planning on proposing to your better halves anytime soon, the bar has just been raised.
We Irish men are a romantic bunch and when we’re asking our ladies the most important question of their lives, we like to make them feel a bit special when doing so.
One Irish guy by the name of Cliff Henry has just raised the bar for Irish menfolk everywhere, however, after staging an incredibly romantic proposal involving popular Irish band Keywest and, accidentally, probably the most famous Irishman on the planet.
Cliff approached Keywest on Grafton Street one morning and requested their help with his marriage proposal to his childhood sweetheart, Fiona O’ Hehir, by asking them to play Fiona’s favourite song, Raglan Road, at the top of Killiney Hill, where Cliff was going to bring her and ask her to marry him.
As well as wearing a GoPro camera to capture the magic moment (he claimed he was testing it for work) Cliff employed the services of a covert film crew posing as tourists to get it all on film.
If that wasn’t enough, Cliff bumped into U2 singer Bono and his wife Ali and they added their own memorable contribution to the video, which, of course concluded in Cliff getting the answer he desired and much celebrations all around.
Could you imagine if she said no?
