As the humanitarian crisis continues to unfold across Europe, many countries have opened their doors to migrants and refugees from war-torn countries. The wealthiest country in Europe, Germany, has proven itself very accommodating to date and there have been some striking examples of their warmth and hospitality towards the thousands of people entering the country in recent days. It is estimated that some 6,000 people have arrived in one of the country’s biggest cities, Munich, in the last few days by various means of transport and the scenes which greeted them were fantastic to witness.

Locals applauded and cheered as migrants and refugees arrived in the city, food, water and sweets were handed out and some were given places to stay. Despite Hungary’s relaxation of attempts to stop the progress of migrants, it hasn’t been as straightforward elsewhere in recent days as it was in Munich. The scenes above go to show that there are a lot of decent people out there and what can be achieved when people are united for a common cause.
