Thousands turned out to celebrate the life of the iconic leader today, and Obama’s words moved all who attended

President Obama is known for his oratory skills, but it must surely have been difficult even for him to come up with the right words and phrases that could sum up and do justice to the amazing life of Nelson Mandela.

Today, in front of a crowd of thousands in the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg earlier today, he did his best to do just that, as he gave a touching eulogy to one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known.

“We will never see the likes of Nelson Mandela again. But let me say to you the young people of Africa, and young people around the world – you can make his life’s work your own.”

You can watch through the full video and speech above, which is a fitting tribute to Madiba, describing him as a giant of history, and it was hugely appreciated by the crowd who filled the stadium to celebrate the life of the man who did so much for their country.

Obama also took the time to shake hands with Cuban leader Raul Castro in what was a brief, but historic moment in the relationship between the United States and Cuba.
