VIDEO: Scary drone footage of a huge gorse fire in Armagh on Sunday night

Conor Heneghan

The blaze was inaccessible and left to burn out.

Residents of south Armagh and parts of Louth, including Dundalk, bore witness to smoke billowing from a huge gorse fire in Slieve Brack Mountain above Forkhill on Sunday evening.

According to the BBC, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was inaccessible and was left to burn out; the effects of the fire were visible for miles around.

Photographer Patrick Hughes sent us in drone footage of the blaze from overhead and it makes for a frightening spectacle.

The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.

Cheers to Patrick Hughes for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102 or mail [email protected].
