VIDEO: South Park skewers Donald Trump…but warns America to take him seriously

Top Trump

Nooruddean Choudry

The makers of South Park take no prisoners. Anything – and anyone – is fair game for their ceaseless lampoonery.

But as well as the ritual humiliation of well-known figures, the animated show quite often makes effective points about the hypocrisy, prejudice and sheer stupidity of modern life.

With the US elections rapidly approaching, and the race to become the Republican candidate entering a pivotal stage, the name of Donald Trump is never far from the headlines.

Far more than any other prospective candidate – either Republican or Democrat – his profile dominates the political landscape in the States.

A lot of the coverage is mocking and dismissive in tone, but the very real fear is that the country may sleep-walk into allowing the crazy b*stard into office.

Whilst seeking to embarrass and humiliate Trump, South Park have attempted to wake the country up to taking the bewigged bigot seriously…or else.

In the show’s fictional world, Trump is now the President of Canada. It’s because everyone assumed his joke candidacy wouldn’t prevail – just like many Americans do now…
