A good idea.

Vodafone Ireland has launched a new plan for those who have become unemployed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The new Pay As You Go plan will offer unlimited data, unlimited calls and unlimited texts in exchange for €15 top up every four weeks for six months.

Vodafone has said the new plan is open to both existing and new customers.

In order to claim the offer, customers can fill out an online form on the Vodafone website which requires their name, phone number, email address and a screenshot of their MyWelfare benefit claim.

The mobile network is also creating a new hub for jobseekers on its website which will help those out of work to discover new jobs or opportunities to upskill.

The hub will provide access to over 600 free, curated courses on personal growth, productivity and professional skills, and essential tech skills.

“We understand how challenging the last few months have been for many in our society,” Anita Carra, Consumer Director, Vodafone Ireland, said.

“Through this new plan, we aim to reduce monthly outgoings for those most in need at this incredibly difficult time and make sure everyone can stay connected.

“We also want to support those who are seeking employment and our Jobseekers Connected Hub will facilitate upskilling with over 600 free courses available online. If you can’t afford your current plan, or you know someone who is struggling, we can help, and together we can get back to work.”
