Warning issued after ‘panther’ reportedly spotted in Irish town

Seriously…

The Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI) have issued a warning to members of the public in Newry after a rather unusual sighting.

They’ve warned people to be vigilant as “a large black cat, possibly a panther” has been spotted in the Newry area.

We think there’s a rather large difference between a large black cat and a panther, but then again, we’re no experts on the subject.

The PSNI Newry & Mourne Facebook page posted the following warning for people in the area. They warned people not to approach the ‘panther’ (aren’t all panthers like Bagheera?) and to contact police.

They posted: “On 16th June 2017 at 11am Police received a report of what has been described as a large black cat, possibly a panther, sighted in the Moneymore Road area of Newry!

“If you do see an animal matching this description can you contact Police immediately and reference serial number 381 16/06/17. DO NOT APPROACH!

“Thank You.”

Keep an eye out folks, for the large black cat, possibly a panther.
