What a great way to start back in work after the storm.
If you decided to venture out to Dundrum Shopping Centre after the worst of Storm Emma had come and gone, you might have seen what was a pretty odd main display in the window of the shoe store, Schuh: a woman attempting to put a bird inside a paper bag.
In case you were worried that the storm had not only led to bread shortages, but shoe shortages too, rest assured, this wasn’t the case. Schuh haven’t rebranded as a shoe and bird merchants, even if the use of the store’s shopping bags had you convinced of that theory.
No, simply put, a bird got trapped in the display and for a few minutes all hell broke loose as was captured by one delighted onlooker, Twitter user @ChrisCough.

Speaking with JOE, Chris said, “It was all innocent enough. I was walking past with a coffee after being stuck in the apartment for a few days.”
“It was the most entertaining thing I’d seen in days,” he added.
The ordeal went on for about 15 to 20 minutes, before the bird was finally caught and safely released with various passersby stopping to have a good look at the staff clambering about with bags.
