WATCH: Gardaí at one of Ireland’s busiest Garda stations take on the mannequin challenge

Conor Heneghan

That’s right, even the Gardaí are doing it.

We’re assuming that by now, you know what the mannequin challenge is and don’t require an explanation.

If you do, rather than have us spell it out, it’s far easier to check out these previous examples from a Dublin house party, in a Dublin pub and one featuring the great Paul O’Connell.

So mainstream has the mannequin challenge become, in fact, that they gave it a go in Store Street Garda Station in Dublin on Thursday, one of the busiest Garda stations in the capital and the country.

As well as showing that they’re in touch with popular culture, they were also raising awareness of the need to report domestic violence in Ireland.

Fair play to all the participants – including a man inside a cell – they went all out, although we’re sure some people won’t be able to resist snide jokes about the Gardaí being used to standing still on the job.

You won’t hear them from us though, of course.
