WATCH: Roy family goes to war in first trailer for Succession season three
We can't wait to see this.
Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, Alan Ruck, J. Smith-Cameron will be returning to screens once again as the Roy family goes to war in the first teaser trailer for Succession season three.
Headed up by Peep Show co-creator Jesse Armstrong, the show tracks the trials and tribulations of the Roy family, a collection of absolutely awful rich people with almost no redeeming features whatsoever.
All of them are vying for control over Waystar-Royco; a global media and hospitality empire that unites them in ruthless greed. The legendary Brian Cox sits at the top of the mountain, painfully aware that his children seek to oust him. Cue an endless series of verbal power plays that rival the cut-throat world of Game of Thrones.
Spoilers ahead if you have yet to catch up on the first two seasons.
There’s palace intrigue, double-crossing, and lots of very inventive swearing, all culminating in the second-season finale where Kendall Roy, Logan’s favourite son at the start of the series, turns against his father and accuse him of financial crimes, instead of taking the fall as planned.
The trailer for season three sees this lead to war between the relatives as the whole Roy family become the subjects of a criminal investigation, instead of just one of them.
HBO has not yet given a release date for season three, however, it will premiere sometime over the coming months and will likely appear on the Sky Store soon after for Irish viewers.
