It’s August.

It’s genuinely August.

And we’re here dealing with weather warning after weather warning.

Ah well, 2020 and all that.

The most recent Status Yellow rainfall warning has been issued for all six counties of Munster, as well as Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow and Offaly.

Met Éireann issued the warning on Wednesday afternoon, and it will be valid from 1pm on Thursday until 1pm the next day.

Intense and potentially thundery downpours on Wednesday night, Thursday and Thursday night, which may lead to localised flooding in certain areas.

Given recent heavy rainfall, this will further elevate river levels and may result in river flooding also.

The best of any drier or brighter intervals on Thursday will be in Ulster. The province can expect cool breezes with highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees generally, but it will be a degree or two warmer in the southwest, with light to moderate easterly breezes.

So once again, in August, half of the country is going to be soaking wet tomorrow, with a strong chance of thunder on the cards too.

Grand.
