The snow showers are set to continue tomorrow night and Thursday morning and motorists are being warned that the freezing conditions will make driving particularly hazardous on Thursday morning.
According to Met Éireann: “The showers [on Thursday] will be most frequent over the hills and mountains of the west and north but all areas are at risk as they will be carried on the moderate to fresh westerly wind, which will veer northwest later.”
As for the weather warning, Met Éireann has currently issued a Yellow Warning which they say: “is to notify those who are at risk because of their location and/or activity, and to allow them to take preventative action.
“It is implicit that YELLOW level weather alerts are for weather conditions that do not pose an immediate threat to the general population, but only to those exposed to risk by nature of their location and/or activity.”
