Met Éireann has said it will be staying cold over the weekend.
A Status Yellow weather warning has been issued for Donegal, while Met Éireann has said that the country may see snow later in the week.
The wind warning for the county will be in effect from 3pm on Friday to 6am on Saturday.
It states that northerly winds are expected to reach mean speeds in excess of 50km/h with gusts in excess of 90km/h.

The Met Éireann alert comes after the UK Met Office also issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone.
It is valid from midday on Friday to midnight.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann’s forecast says that Thursday morning will be cold with clear spells and frost in many areas.
Scattered showers will continue to feed down across Ulster, but other areas will be dry and bright for much of the day, with sunny spells and just isolated showers.
Cloud will increase later in the day, bringing more frequent showers into the west and northwest by evening.
It will be another cold day with highest afternoon temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, in light to moderate winds, fresh around the coast.
Thursday night is set to be windier as fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds gradually develop, with gales on north and northwest coasts.
There will be widespread blustery showers too with minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees.
Friday is also expected to be windy with gales around the coasts, as well as fresh to strong and gusty winds strengthening to near gale force in the northwest later.
There will also be sunny spells and widespread blustery showers – some of which will turn to sleet later, with snow possible on high ground.
Temperatures in the early afternoon are set to be around 4 to 9 degrees but it will get colder as the day continues.
Following a very windy Friday night, Met Éireann has said a cold weekend with unsettled conditions is on the cards.
Saturday morning will also begin quite windy before becoming gradually calmer through the day.
It will be a cold and bright Saturday with long spells of sunshine and afternoon temperatures of just 4 to 6 degrees.
That said, while most areas will stay dry, there will be a few showers in the north and towards the west coast.
Cloud will increase over the western half of the country later in the day, before outbreaks of rain and drizzle in some parts on Saturday night.
Sunday is expected to continue to be cloudy with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle that will be heaviest in the northwest.
The morning will be cold and conditions will stay chilly in the east, with afternoon temperatures of just 3 to 5 degrees.
However, it will become milder in the west with temperatures increasing to around 8 to 11 degrees.
