Take note.

Two separate weather warnings have been issued for this weekend affecting 14 counties in total.

A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued by Met Éireann on Saturday and covers Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway and the entirety of Munster.

The warning was issued on Friday and is valid from 3pm on Saturday until 11.30pm on Saturday night.

Met Éireann has said heavy rain and strong winds will bring a risk of flooding and hazardous conditions to these counties.

The Met Office has also issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Antrim and Down.

The warning was issued on Friday and is valid from 3am on Sunday morning until 2pm on Sunday afternoon.

The forecaster has warned that strong winds may cause transport and coastal disruption.

Met Éireann has said Friday night will be mostly dry with some isolated showers in places with temperatures of between one and four degrees.

It will be dry on Saturday morning but a freshening southeast wind in the afternoon will bring rain northwards over the country. This rain will turn heavy at times and fall as sleet over hills and high mountains which could lead to flooding in places.

Sunday will be blustery with widespread thundery showers through much of the day but later in the day there will be dryer patches.
