Great news on the weather front; the weekend is set to be a belter

Conor Heneghan

Weather this weekend

It’s early days and we don’t want to get your hopes up, but it’s looking good.

Made plans for this weekend? Do they involve spending time outdoors?

Then you’ll be glad to know that the early forecast from Met Éireann predicts plenty of dry and sunny spells, with temperatures in the high teens.

Saturday looks set to be the best day of the weekend with dry and mild spells and temperatures reaching highs of 17 degrees.

Hardly the Costa del Sol we know, but we’ll take it for this time of year.

Before that, Friday will be slightly cooler and there will be a risk of light drizzle along the coasts in Connacht and Ulster, but it will be dry and mild for the most part, with Leinster enjoying the warmest weather on the day.

Sunday will be a little cooler and a little cloudier, with patchy rain over the northern half of the country, but will be dry for the most part, with temperatures ranging from 9 to 13 degrees.

The dry, mild weather should continue into the start of next week but it’s likely that it’ll take a turn for the worse from Monday night on; might as well enjoy it over the weekend while it lasts.
