A belter of a weekend in the middle of June? That’s more like it, summer 2017.
It had a lot to live up to after some of the glorious conditions we experienced last month, but June 2017 has been something of a disappointment on the weather front so far.
Until now.
It was flagged that
we had a cracking weekend in store earlier in the week and the most recent forecast has confirmed it, with
Met Éireann predicting temperatures of up to 25 degrees over the next couple of days.

Friday might not get off to the best start depending on where you are in the country, with cloudy and misty conditions and patches of drizzle expected along western and northern coasts.
It will be dry for the most part, however and conditions will gradually improve as the day goes on, with temperatures reaching as high as 23 degrees in places.
Saturday and Sunday sound even more promising still, with the promise of dry weather, plenty of sunshine and very warm conditions of up to 25 degrees during the day.
The west and the north appear to be the only places where cloudier weather might prevail and there is the possibility of drizzle in coastal areas when the fine weather returns once again on Sunday.
While temperatures are unlikely to exceed 20 degrees in the north and west on Sunday, they will again reach as high as 25 degrees elsewhere, so be sure to take the necessary precautions if you’re spending a lot of time out and about during the day.
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly in the early part of next week, when there will only be a slight chance of isolated showers.
It will get warmer and more humid as the week goes on, but with the increase in temperatures will come an increase in heavy and thundery showers in what looks like being an unsettled end to the week.
