Health experts have warned people not to attempt the dangerous new challenge.

A dangerous new challenge has been taking the internet by storm this week and chances are you have seen it on your timeline.

So what is the milk crate challenge?

The so-called ‘milk crate challenge’ has seen people take to social media to share footage of themselves attempting to take on the viral challenge which sees them walk over a pyramid of balanced milk crates.

The crates are stacked higher in the centre as people attempt to successfully cross the crates without falling – a goal that most people are failing to achieve.

Celebrities such as Rick Ross, Vic Mensa and Blueface have also participated in the challenge over recent days.

While the hashtag will turn out a host of results on Instagram and Twitter, the videos have primarily been scraped from TikTok search engines.

The search result page for the hashtag reads: “This phrase may be associated with behaviour or content that violates our guidelines.

“Promoting a safe and positive experience is TikTok’s top priority.”

Health experts have warned that people should not attempt the dangerous challenge after TikTok, Instagram and Twitter have been flooded with videos of people in the United States and around the world attempting the trend.

Baltimore City Health took to Twitter to warn that hospitals are already struggling with additional pressure due to the Covid-19 pandemic, urging people to avoid the challenge unless they want to end up in hospital.

“With Covid-19 hospitalisations rising around the country, please check with your local hospital to see if they have a bed available for you, before attempting the #milkcratechallenge,” the official account penned.

Yeah, we weren’t going to try this one anyways.
