The man was arrested on Friday.
A man has been formally charged following a fatal assault on a woman in Wicklow which took place on Friday, 24 December.
The woman was found dead in a domestic dwelling in Park Na Sillogue Court in Enniskerry.
Emergency services attended the scene at approximately 4pm.
The male, aged in his 40s, had been arrested and taken to Bray Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
An Garda Síochána are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
The man is due to appear before a special sitting of Bray District Court today, Sunday 26 December, 2021 at 1.30pm.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this incident to come forward.
Gardaí are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Park Na Sillogue area of Bray on Friday between 3.00pm and 4.00pm to come forward.
