Woman dies after falling ill at a hotel swimming pool in Kerry

The incident occurred this afternoon.

Gardaí are investigating the sudden death of a female in her 40s that occurred at a hotel in Killarney, Kerry at approximately 1.40pm today.

The woman fell ill while swimming in a pool at a hotel in Killarney, Kerry.

After becoming unwell, the female was taken to University Hospital Kerry where she was later pronounced dead.

The woman is understood to be in her early 40s and originally from Eastern Europe.

It’s understood at this time a file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.
