This certainly doesn’t happen very often.
A woman gave birth on an Iarnród Éireann train on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports.
This afternoon’s Irish Rail 15.05 service from Galway to Heuston Station was held up at Kildare today as a pregnant woman unexpectedly went to labour.
In the end, the service ended up running around 70 minutes late which, if you ask us, is a pretty impressive turnaround time for delivering a baby on a train.

On Twitter, Iarnród Éireann simply described the incident as a “medical emergency.”
