Female cyclist seriously injured after collision with truck in Kildare

The incident took place on Thursday morning.

A woman has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision that took place in Kildare on Thursday morning, 22 September.

At approximately 8am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a truck and a cyclist on the Shacklton Road in Celbridge.

The cyclist, a woman aged in her 40s, was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries which Gardaí have described as serious.

The road has been closed off to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions have been put in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward and any road users with video footage – including dash-cam – are asked to make this available.
