The alleged incident happened on the Prosperous Road.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred beside an Aldi supermarket in Clane, County Kildare.
The incident is reported to have occurred in the Millicent Road area between 1am – 1.30am on Tuesday morning.
The injured party, a woman in her early twenties, alleged that she was walking home when she was assaulted and raped by three men.
It’s believed that the woman was returning from a night out socialising at the time.
The Aldi supermarket, which usually opens at 9am every morning, was cordoned off and surrounded by a heavy Garda presence yesterday following the incident. It reopened for business on Wednesday.
