It was reported earlier this weekend that more than 1,000 people are now unaccounted for as California’s deadliest wildfire enters a second week.
The fire has left over 71 people dead, and has resulted in thousands of homes and buildings being destroyed.
It has been confirmed that this wildfire is now officially the worst in the history of the state of California.
Due to the severity of the events, a lot of attention has been put on President Donald Trump and his reaction.
While visiting California, Trump was asked whether the devastation from the wildfires has changed his opinion on climate change.

Trump has always had controversial opinions when it comes to climate change and global warming, including tweets like this:
In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!

This isn’t the first bit of negative attention that the President has received as a result of these tragic fires.
Despite initially threatening to take funding away from fighting forest fires in California, he has since tweeted: “These California fires are expanding very, very quickly (in some cases 80-100 acres a minute). If people don’t evacuate quickly, they risk being overtaken by the fire. Please listen to evacuation orders from State and local officials!”
