PIC: Obama tears new proposed health care bill apart on his Facebook account

Some strong words from the former President.

JOE

“The Senate bill, unveiled today, is not a health care bill.”

Barack Obama proved on Thursday that just because he is no longer President of the United States of America does not mean he won’t have his say publically on Presidential matters.

He took to his Facebook page to address the Senate Republicans push for a health care bill which Obama once described as fundamentally inhumane.

Since leaving the White House, Obama has been relatively quiet on matters regarding his former position and has chosen to just weigh in on some major debates without having too much of a say.

However, the Affordable Care Act is his signature achievement from this time in office so it is only right that he would have his say on the matter if he thinks it might be under threat.

In his statement on the social media platform, Obama said:

“Our politics are divided. They have been for a long time. And while I know that division makes it difficult to listen to Americans with whom we disagree, that’s what we need to do today.”

The former President understood that the matter was now a pressing topic but he hoped that the new bill would not be repealed and replaced.

“Still, I hope that our Senators, many of whom I know well, step back and measure what’s really at stake.

“I still hope that there are enough Republicans in Congress who remember that public service is not about sport or notching a political win, that there’s a reason we all chose to serve in the first place, and that hopefully, it’s to make people’s lives better, not worse.”
