However, the debate was dominated by the presence of a fly.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Kamala Harris and Mike Pence faced off in the vice-presidential debate ahead of the US election.
The two debated subjects such as abortion, healthcare, police reform, the economy, racism and a number of other topics throughout.
A large part of Harris' argument against Trump/Pence was the current President's reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic.
She said: "The American people have witnessed what is the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of our country.
"Frankly, this administration has forfeited their right to re-election based on this.
"The president said it was a hoax. They minimised the seriousness of it."

However, despite these strong words from Harris, and a number of other notable moments from both throughout the debate, it was the presence of a fly that emerged as the main talking point.
A fly landed directly on Mike Pence's head, and has subsequently been tweeted and retweeted more than 800,000 times since it appeared during the debate, ensuring that the word "fly" was trending on Twitter worldwide.
Joe Biden's campaign team were quick to try and capitalise on the situation, tweeting this shortly after the debate ended:
