Thousands sign petition to name the street at Trump Tower after Barack Obama

Trump Tower Obama

He’ll not be pleased with that.

Donald Trump has never spoken to kindly about Barack Obama.

While his predecessor was still in office, Trump would regularly lambaste him on Twitter, even going as far as to claim that he was not a legal American citizen.

And while Obama has kept his mouth relatively shut about The Donald, he has had a pop or two about some of his behaviour since taking office, especially his comments following the Charlottesville riots.

Long story short, the two don’t have the best relationship.

Which is why we reckon that this news will not make Donald Trump all too happy.

A petition has been formed to try and officially change the name of the street that the New York Trump Tower is on to “President Barack Obama Avenue”.

So one of Trump’s proudest achievements would be forever located on a street named after Obama…

The petition has over 16,000 signatures at the time of writing, and it is targeting 20,000, so it’s really not far off at all.

It reads that it should be delivered to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, New York City Council.

Trump is yet to respond to the petition yet, but we’re keeping a close eye on his Twitter account, where he has been busy tweeting Game of Thrones memes

No seriously.
