James Lendall Basford was a jeweller and watchmaker from Massachusetts who published two books of his own aphorisms in the 19th century.
He’s also the man behind the quote above and obviously wasn’t one for small talk. Right or wrong, you are going to inherit knowledge from this quiz when it’s done.
