QUIZ: Can you name all the artists from the original ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ by Band Aid

Eric Lalor

Band Aid

How well do you remember ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’?

It’s 34 years old this year. A hugely scary realisation for the more mature folks among us. It was the original charity single, the brain child of Bob Geldof and Midge Ure.

Everyone that was anyone in the pop music world was brought in to help record the song. It was all recorded in one day in the Sarm West Studios in Notting Hill, London. Released on this day in 1984, it became the fastest selling single in UK chart history, selling a million copies in the first week alone and passing 3 million on the last day of 1984.

We want to see how well you remember it by naming all of the artists or bands who appeared on the song. You can either name the artist themselves or the band they were associated with at the time.

For example, Bob Geldof or The Boomtown Rats would suffice for an answer. Have a go and see how good your memory is.
