News of Carvalho’s death has come as a huge shock to the MMA community in Ireland, who have responded by setting up a crowdfunding page to raise money for his family and help bring him home to Portugal.

At the time of writing, the page had raised £90 of its target of £5,000 and those interested in donating can do so on the JustGiving crowdfunding page.
