A funny edit on Kieran Donaghy’s Wiki page and more players depart for the US

One GAA fan has no time for American Football and another player joins the US exodus.

One GAA fan has no time for American Football and another player joins the US exodus.

If you were with us on the night of the Super Bowl you would have seen the picture of Kerry forward Kieran Donaghy at the game watching the Baltimore Ravens win the Vince Lombardi.

‘Star’ isn’t the only Kerry player with a deep love of the NFL, and Colm Cooper was one of the more outraged people on Twitter when the news broke that Tim Tebow had signed for the Patriots this week.

Patriots to sign Tim Tebow ! Can’t believe this! What’s up with Tom Brady?#nfl

So we know there is a lot of love for gridiron action in the Kingdom but somebody who isn’t as much of a fan has edited Donaghy’s Wikipedia page.

Under his personal life, they mention that he was at the Super Bowl as part of his honeymoon but the follow up info suggests the mystery writer is none too impressed with your average NFL game.

Another player headed Stateside

We don’t know what Kildare’s Thomas Moolick makes of the NFL but he is the latest GAA player to decide to spend the summer in the US. The Lilywhites Under 21 All-Ireland winning captain has left Kieran McGeeney’s panel and will now spend the Championship across the Atlantic, according to the Irish Indo.

Moolick was not in the matchday squad for Kildare’s senior game with Offaly so his departure is not a huge blow to McGeeney but on the heels of, as listed by the Irish Times this morning, Gareth Bradshaw, Kevin Meaney, Brendan Quigley, Paul McComiskey and Declan McKenna, it’s becoming one of the real issues of the GAA summer.
