It’s not that they want him to leave exactly, but that’s a hell of an expensive price tag.
We’re only a few days away from the transfer window reopening on the first day of 2015 and silly season is already in full swing.
Of all the rumours that have been floating around of late, Gareth Bale moving to Manchester United is arguably the most fanciful of the lot, but it hasn’t stopped people talking about it as if it might actually happen.
Following rumours in Spanish paper AS that United were going to bid in the region of €150 million – that’s right, €150 million – to secure the Welshman’s return to the Premier League, AS then conducted an online poll amongst their readers asking whether or not they would like Bale to be sold for a figure that would vastly exceed the world record sum it took to lure him to Madrid in the first place.
Morning from Madrid!!! There’s a big story on our front-page today: ‘United offer 153m euros for Bale.’ pic.twitter.com/aZvjBF8Qui

Over 30,000 readers voted and just over half of them – 53.75% to be precise – said that they would like to cash in on Bale despite the fact that he’s been very, very good for Los Blancos since joining them last summer, scoring 33 goals in 66 games.
Whatever the Real Madrid fans say, if Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague is to be believed it’s not going to happen anyway, but do you think that means it’s the last we’re going to hear about it?
On Bale: no truth in his departure to United. They are willing to and can spend looots but RM won't sell and he's more than happy in Madrid
