Using all sorts of clever algorithms, stats and other analytical tools, Bloomberg Sports reckon they know what the Premier League table will look like at the end of the season…
As the new season gets closer and closer we are still undecided as to who we fancy to win the title. Will Manuel Pellegrini hit the ground running at Manchester City? How about David Moyes, can he keep the Fergie machine ticking over? Then there’s Arsenal, possibly with Luis Suarez attached and, of course, there’s the return of the Special One at Stamford Bridge.
Throw in Spurs, with our without Bale and a Liverpool team seemingly on the up under Brendan Rodgers and it is the most open Premier League race in years.
But it is only open to us because we are mere mortals, not analytical geniuses like the folks at Bloomberg Sports. By using complex, and not fully clear to us analytical tools, they have posted what they reckon the final table will look like in England, France and Germany. Anyway, here’s the Premier League table as they see it at season’s end.
It’s great news for Chelsea, and not such good news for Palace, Hull and Cardiff, if they are correct.
The lads at Bloomberg also tell us that by their calculations, if Gareth Bale does leave Spurs their odds of a Top Four finish go from 34 per cent to just under 21 per cent.
For the record they expect Bayern Munich and PSG to run away with their respective leagues. We’ll check back on this piece in May, see how they did.
