Aer Lingus and Air New Zealand are going back and forth on Twitter, and it's getting intense
Let's hope the match is half as intense as this.
Aer Lingus and Air New Zealand are going back and forth on Twitter ahead of the Irish rugby team's game against the All Blacks on Saturday.
The New Zealand Twitter page started this cyber war, but it wasn't long before the lads at Aer Lingus shot back, and it only escalated from there.
Hey there @AerLingus! Time for the @AllBlacks vs @IrishRugby, round 2. Not sure how long your lucky shamrock will last! ☘ #AirlineChallenge

Kia ora, @FlyAirNZ! Chicago had nothing to do with luck and everything to do with good prep! We’re ready! #AirlineChallenge

.@AerLingus Maybe if the @AllBlacks win, we can give you a bit of a makeover? 😉 #AirlineChallenge #ProjectBlackout pic.twitter.com/h7Hen08lEb

That's nice, @FlyAirNZ, but haven't you heard? Green is the new black! 😉 Remember, we’ve got #HomeAdvantage #AirlineChallenge pic.twitter.com/5kq5pjg8Tu

.@FlyAirNZ We’ve done you a favour and designed a cover for your in-flight magazine – to be used if we win, of course! 😘 #AirlineChallenge pic.twitter.com/HFyYKLzSrT

.@AerLingus Let’s not forget about Cara magazine. Everyone will love it! 😎 #AirlineChallenge pic.twitter.com/CZaXr8aEwn

Let’s think bigger here, @FlyAirNZ. If you lose, we’d be happy to cut the grass at @AKL_Airport #AirlineChallenge pic.twitter.com/wWHOg87Lz3

We know all about gardening, @AerLingus. Perhaps we can do some at @DublinAirport if we win? #AirlineChallenge pic.twitter.com/yoiyrs3wce
— Air New Zealand ✈️ (@FlyAirNZ) November 17, 2016
Aer Lingus have even gone as far as to suggest a wager, based on the result of the game. New Zealand have happily obliged.
Ok, so we saw last year’s deal with @Qantas. We want to see a @FlyAirNZ crew in FULL @IrishRugby gear if we win! #AirlineChallenge #IREvNZL
— Aer Lingus (@AerLingus) November 18, 2016
.@AerLingus And we want to see your cabin crew dressed head to toe in @AllBlacks gear if we win (again) #AirlineChallenge #IREvNZL

If this savage animosity between the two airline Twitter pages is anything to go by, the match is sure to be a cracker.
Let's hope we see a plane full of flight crew in Irish gear this at some stage this weekend.
