Ah ear Tyson, leave it out – Iron Mike remembers that fateful night 16 years ago

June 28^th 1997 will go down as one of the most infamous days in boxing history, but 16 years on Mike Tyson has reflected on that moment of madness.

It is hard to imagine that it was 16 years ago tonight that Iron Mike took a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear and shocked the world with his actions in the ring. Not for the first time either.

That was his second bout with Holyfield after surprisingly losing to his opponent the previous year. Tyson was fined $3 million for the bite and would not step back into the boxing ring for 18 months.

Today he took to Twitter to acknowledge the “notorious” moment and to also say that he is glad the two boxers have kissed and made up.
