Another slip-up from Beale? Wallaby team-mates out on the town in Melbourne

No stranger to a night on the town, Kurtley Beale and his Wallaby team-mate James O’Connor have again put the Wallabies preparations into the limelight after a late night in Melbourne.

No stranger to a night on the town, Kurtley Beale and his Wallaby team-mate James O’Connor have again put the Wallabies preparations into the limelight after a late night in Melbourne.

The Australian Rugby Union has admitted it’s “not ideal” ahead of the second test this Saturday but that neither player has done anything wrong. Both players were spotted in the early hours of Wednesday morning after taking in the Lions victory over the Rebels at the AAMI Park.

Both players attended the post-match function with both sets of players and were later spotted shortly before 4am in a fast-food restaurant and while they were not drinking, it is hardly the ideal preparation ahead of the must-win game on Saturday. The Wallabies nutritionist also won’t be over the moon to see the location of their night cap.

“There has been a full and thorough investigation of the information. The two players were out last night, but they were not drinking – 10 witnesses we have spoken to corroborated that,” a spokesperson for the union told The Daily Mail.

“Both players are adamant that they didn’t drink and we have checked that out thoroughly. James O’Connor was driving. They have not broken any team protocols.

“These players have done nothing wrong. It is not ideal that the guys were out as late as they were, but it was a Tuesday night and they had free time today.”

Maybe Beale just needed a bit of comfort food after a difficult few days.
