Australian star Quade Cooper seems to have strongly mixed feelings on Ireland

Alan Loughnane

Mostly good though…

Anyone who watches rugby will understand that Quade Cooper is a genius with the ball in his hands… an infuriating genius who you feel has never quite reached the level that his potential suggested he could.

Brilliant, mesmerising, fleet footed and creative are all words that are used to describe Quade Cooper but there’s just as many that will point to his defence and raise questions about the solidity of it.

His long-running feud with Richie McCaw made him public enemy number one in New Zealand in the years around the 2011 World Cup.

“That tournament took a lot of confidence away from me,” Cooper told World Rugby. “I went into my shell a bit because a lot of the people coming at me directly sort of pushed me back a bit.”

He has only represented Australia sporadically ever since with Matt Tomua and more recently Bernard Foley preferred in the number ten position for the Wallabies.

Australia take on Ireland this weekend in the Aviva Stadium in the November Internationals and the Wallaby squad landed in Dublin this week in preparation for the game.

Cooper seems to be enjoying his time here so far as he did a spot of sightseeing on his trip…

But the he’s not a fan of the weather at all…

It’s not the first time he’s professed his love for Ireland social media…

But his hate of the weather comes to the surface again…

Although he has shown his admiration for the skill set of Simon Zebo in 2012…
