BOD odds and more betting tips for Ireland v France this weekend

We take a look at the betting market ahead of the big Paris showdown between France and Ireland this Saturday

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that this Saturday sees the climax of the Six Nations and alas, the climax of Brian O’Driscoll’s international career.

We’ve taken a look at the Paris showdown to see if there is any value in the betting market with Ladbrokes. For the sentimentalists out there, we have some odds on various Brian O’Driscoll bets in his last game wearing the green jersey.

Ireland are slight favourites to win and you can get them at 5/6 with France coming in at Evens. For anyone who thinks it’s too tight to call, you can get the draw at 16/1. Joe Schmidt’s side are 5/6 favourites to win the tournament outright while England are evens to pip Ireland to the post by securing a win over Italy on Saturday and hoping Ireland lose or winning by a humongous margin and pipping Ireland on points difference. France are outsiders at 33/1 to lift the Six Nations trophy.

For the main man, Brian O’Driscoll,  Ladbrokes are offering several options. If he scores a try at any time in the match, Ladbrokes will refund losing match bets as a free bet. It’s 14 years since he announced himself on the world stage with that sensational hat-trick in Paris (pic below) and he is 3/1 to score a try at any time during the match.  If you fancy him to repeat those heroics and get another hat-trick, you can get odds of 80/1.

The half-time/full-time markets are always popular and if you fancy Ireland to lead at half-time and also full-time, you can get odds of 11/8. However, if you think France will come out all guns blazing and lead at half-time with Ireland winning at full-time, the odds for that are 7/1.
