You have to admire Robin Deakin’s guts but…

After 40 wins in 75 amateur fights, ‘Rocking’ Robin Deakin turned pro in 2006, and he won his first fight against Shaun Walton on points. Since then, Deakin has had 51 fights, and lost every one.

Deakin (above right in the process of losing to Billy Morgan in 2011) is being dubbed Britain’s Worst Boxer after he suffered his latest defeat in Germany on Saturday at the hands of  Poland’s Damian Lawniczak.

The 27-year-old welterweight blamed nerves for his poor performance but he has said on Twitter he vows to fight on. The obvious concern would be for his health and the British Boxing Board of Control revoked his licence to box in 2012. His fight against Lawniczak went ahead after he was granted a licence to fight in Germany.

With over 200 rounds boxed in his career, and 12 KOs suffered, you would think it might be time for Deakin to try another line of work but he remains undeterred.
