Brock Lesnar’s WWE return date has been confirmed

People are asking some questions.

He might be facing a two-year ban from the UFC, but Brock Lesnar is free to resume his wrestling career.

The 39-year-old, who was found to have tested positive for a banned substance after his UFC 200 victory over Mark Hunt, will be back in WWE action for Monday Night Raw on August 1.

He had not been expected to return until SummerSlam later in the month, but will now be back in the ring less than a month after ending his five-year UFC hiatus.

Hunt called for Lesnar to lose his $2.5m fight purse after the in-competition and out-of-competition positive tests, arguing drug cheats should be sued.

Telling The MMA Hour that drug cheats aren’t penalised severely enough, Hunt said “You lose 20% when you don’t make weight but when you get caught doping…what do you get? Nothing. They just give you a two-year ban.”

Indeed, some questions have been asked with regard to Lesnar being able to return to WWE so soon, despite his failed tests not having been carried out by the wrestling body.

Lesnar is a four-time WWE Championship winner, taking his first title at the age of 25. He holds a 6-3 career MMA record, and is a former heavyweight champion in the promotion.
