Kelleher is expected to leave Liverpool this summer.

Brentford are interested in signing Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool this summer, according to reports.

The Bees are said to be planning for next season without their highly-rated number-one goalkeeper David Raya, who has been linked with clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

If Raya does leave Brentford at the end of the season, Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Kelleher is believed to be at the top of the club’s wishlist.

Brentford are interested in signing Caoimhin Kelleher.

According to reports, Kelleher wants to leave Anfield in search of first-team football, and Brentford are keen on signing him. Brighton and Hove Albion are also understood to be keeping tabs on the goalkeeper.

The Cork native, 24, has been Allison Becker’s understudy for the past five seasons. Kelleher has made 20 appearances for the Reds during that time and was the team’s starting goalkeeper during their run to win the EFL Cup in 2022.

The Irish ‘keeper started in the final against Chelsea at Wembley and scored the decisive spot kick in the shootout. Kelleher is under contract at Anfield until 2026 but is highly unlikely to dislodge the excellent Alisson as the club’s number-one.

Liverpool won’t stand in his way this summer and reportedly want to reward him for his loyal service with a smooth exit from the club. The Reds are said to be looking for between €11m and €14m for the goalkeeper.

Brentford move could be perfect for Kelleher.

Brentford could be the perfect move for Kelleher at this stage of his career.

Thomas Frank’s side have established themselves in the Premier League over the last two seasons, and Kelleher will be joining one of the best-coached teams in the division.

A move to Brentford would also help his chances of establishing himself as the number-one goalkeeper at international level. Kelleher has earned 10 caps for Ireland, but Gavin Bazunu has been the first choice under Stephen Kenny.

Kelleher’s transfer to Brentford, however, could depend on David Raya’s future. The Spanish goalkeeper is valued at around €35m by the Bees and is expected to be on the move this summer with several Premier League clubs in the market for a goalkeeper.
