Carl Frampton's former opponent Alejandro Gonzalez Jr found dead in Mexico
Boxer Alejandro Gonzalez Jr has been found dead near his home in Mexico.
Gonzalez shared a ring with Carl Frampton in El Paso, Texas, in July 2015 as Frampton defended his IBF World super-bantamweight title only after being knocked down twice in the opening stanza.
23-year-old Gonzalez was found dead alongside two others in a jeep near his home in Guadalajara on Friday morning according to ESPN.
Reports of the incident suggest he was "executed".
Frampton took to Twitter to pay tribute to the man he described as a warrior following their fight last year.
